Winemaker Tasting Notes: The 2019 Ceja Grenache has a deep crimson hue with magenta at the edges. The nose is of black raspberries, dark cherries, and wild fennel pollen to follow. The palate has a nice frame, it is medium-bodied with a hibiscus tea-like tannin. A little touch of stone fruit and kirsch shows up on the finish. With aeration elderberry and a suggestion of bay laurel emerge. Having watched nine previous vintages of Grenache sourced from this vineyard mature and evolve, I expect to see its optimum window of drinking opening around the early spring of 2021 and carrying through the next 6-8 years.

"This sexy cool climate Grenache is as pure as pure gets with a ravishing electric ruby color... and an incredible burst of crushed raspberry, pomegranate, strawberry, and plum fruits on the supple and spicy medium-bodied palate ... the bouquet is intoxicatingly wild with just the right amount of subtle savory notes to keep your attention."
